When I first came to LA, I had a guy at a bar tell me he was a Vacuum Cleaner salesman after I asked what he did. I believed him. (I think I even asked him about the technology of the Dyson...) Anyway, later on in the night, it came out that he was actually an Actor. I wondered why he wouldn't admit that, why he'd want to hide it. A couple of years later, here I am. The other night, when I told a random guy I was an Actor, he must've used the words "industry" and "networking" in conversation over 30 times each. From now on, out in social settings, I am now officially in Finance.
