What should I bring to consultation?
Your completed Get Reel LA Consultation Form, the scene if you're providing your own, and any questions or concerns you have about the Get Reel LA process. And remember, it's our time to get to know you and what you need as an Actor, so the more prepared you are the better.

How long is consultation?
For one Actor, consultation will last approximately 30 minutes, for two Actors consultation will last one hour.

Where is consultation located?
A Starbucks near you! It gives us a chance to buy you coffee and get online if need be.

Who is going to be at my consultation?
One of the Get Reel LA girls. Either K'Dee Miller or Molly McCann, or both.

If I am doing my own scene, should I bring it to consultation?
Absolutely. That way we can get a specific idea of the shooting style you're looking for and we can start collaborating immediately.

Do I have to pay for consultation?
Nope. Totally free. We actually pay you. Not really, but we do buy you a cup of coffee.

If I decide to hire Get Reel LA, do I have to pay at the consultation?
No. But in order to hold your shoot date, we do need a $100 deposit, so the sooner we get that deposit the sooner you can secure your date. So if you're really sure this is something you'd like to do, then you may consider paying your deposit at the consultation.

How fast can I get my 2 Minute Movie? What's the fastest "turn around"?
Well, this one is tricky. It all depends on the schedule. But because we are both Actors and know what it feels like to NEED footage before your big agent meeting on Friday, we will do whatever we can to accommodate you. That being said, realistically, it's rare we could do the entire process in less than five business days.

Is consultation mandatory?
Yes! But don't worry, it's FUN! And necessary. It gives us a chance to get to know you so we can start making executive creative decisions specifically geared towards your needs. Also, it gives you a chance to get to know us, so when you arrive on set you're comfortable with us and the process and all you have to worry about is acting.

How do I book an appointment for my consultation?
You can either call us at 310-694-8180 or email us at info@getreelLA.com.

How do I book my shoot date? I need a reel in a hurry!
Okay, we get it. Just call us at 310-694-8180 or email us at info@getreelLA.com and we can let you know our first available shoot date and how quickly our turn around can be. We can then set up your consultation and you can pay your deposit to secure the date.

How much does this cost?
Check out Pricing & Packages for a complete break down on prices.

Does the Deposit go towards my full balance?
Yes! We need a $100 deposit to secure your shoot date. For more info on the deposit check out Terms & Conditions, section.

Can I get a refund?
Get Reel LA does not provide refunds on any services or products. To learn more about this, please check out the Terms & Conditions, section...

Can I pick my own scene or use something I've written myself?
Of course.

Can I pick a scene that is longer than two pages?
No. Sorry folks, but in order to create your 2 Minute Movie, your scene is limited to two pages of dialogue. Honestly, this is all you need.

Can I pay extra to shoot a longer scene?
Depending on our schedule we may be able to work something out.

What if I don't have a scene partner?
Get Reel LA can provide a scene partner for an additional $50. This Actor would mainly act as a stand in and receive minimal camera time.

What if I don't like the scene Get Reel LA wrote for me?
Okay. We hope this never happens, but if it does, we allow you one round of revisions. For more information on this, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

If I'm doing my own scene, do I have to attain rights to that material?
Yes, you must attain rights to any intellectual property that you provide. Please see Terms & Conditions for more information.

What if my scene has a lot of action in it and not much dialogue?
Well, are you skydiving or in a car chase? If so, this may not be a good choice of material. For the most part, you're looking for scenes with more dialogue and less action. Best thing to do in this case is email us the script or bring it to your consultation and we can tell you if it's possible. If you skydiving, we can tell you no: Not Possible!

Can I pick a scene with more than two people?
No. Because we have a limited amount of takes per 2 Minute Movie, you have to stick to two people. And when you're talking about a demo reel, the simpler the scene, the more camera time on you.

If Get Reel LA writes a scene for me, do I own that material?
No. Sorry guys, the material still belongs to Get Reel LA. But are we going to stop you if you use it in your acting classes, acting workshops, or acting auditions? Of course not. Just don't go selling the script to Warner Brothers, cause we will find you.

Can I pick a Monologue?
Not a great idea. Can we talk you out of this? Please?

Can I credit someone specifically as a writer/director on my resume?
You're welcome to credit Get Reel LA, but no one person in particular.

What if my scene calls for extras?
Uh, how many extras? If it's an army in full uniform, then it's probably not going to go over too well, but if its a few people to create the illusion of a public place, then we can most likely work something out. Bring the scene to your consultation and we can then discuss the options.

Where do the directing sessions occur?
Depending on availability, either your place, our director's place or the shoot location.

Can I bring my own director to the shoot?
Sure! The more the merrier. Your director can look through the monitor, but please let them know that they will not be handling the camera equipment.

What if I want a directing session longer than one hour?
Our Director charges $50/hour.

Do I have to be off book for the rehearsal?
Ultimately, it's your session. So whatever works best for you. If you don't come off book, we suggest that you at least arrive very familiar with the text.

Should I come to the directing session in costume?
Sure! It will give you a chance to get some feedback from our director.

Who picks the location?
The Get Reel LA Team will collaborate with you in order to find the perfect location.

What if my scene takes place in a court room, in the ER or some other public place?
Well, this could be a problem. Unless you have a courtroom or ER at your disposal, we suggest you choose a scene that does not take place in a public area.

How will I know what time to show up?
As soon as all the specifics are set, the Get Reel LA Team will send you a confirmation email with your call time.

What if I'm going to be late to the shoot?
Please call us as soon as possible! For our number, go to Contact Us. For detailed information on our rescheduling policies, please see the Terms & Conditions.

How long is the shoot?
Our shoots range from 2 to 4 hours depending on what package you choose.

How many takes do I get?
Each paying Actor gets two of each: close up, mid shot & wide shot. An entire shoot consists of 10 takes minimum, 15 takes maximum.

What if I'm not satisfied with either of my takes?
We're understanding, we'll allow you one more take. But please come prepared so this doesn't become a habit.

Is a Make-Up/Hair Artist or Costume Designer provided?
No. Each Actor is responsible for providing their own make up, hair and costume. But if you want feedback, the Get Reel LA Team is happy to provide some basic pointers like "best powder your nose" or "that color is too bright on camera."

When during the day do the shoots normally occur?
This depends on the scene and whether it's indoors our outdoors. Typically speaking, if you're doing a scene outdoors with natural light, we'll want to shoot early morning or early evening.

What if I have to reschedule my shoot date?
If you need to reschedule your shoot date, you must give us at least 48 hours of notice. For more info on rescheduling your appointment, check out our Terms & Conditions.

What kind of camera do you use?
A beautiful Canon Digital XL2.

What type of lights do you use?
We've got three basic 600 Watt, free standing lights equipped with barn doors, dissolve, scrims, etc. We're fully prepared to catch you in your best light.

What type of sound equipment do you use?
We've got the basic boom, 4 foot fishpole and protect sound guards which help limit all background noise.

Do I get to see my footage while I'm on set?
Typically no. You'll be too busy acting! But if we need to make a point, we may playback your last take so you can see what we see.

Do I get a copy of all the rough footage?
Yes. We don't believe in the Cutting Room Floor! You will receive your raw footage in DVD format. This will allow you to see all of your takes, not just the ones the Get Reel LA editor chose for the Final Cut.

Will there be Craft Services available?
Are you kidding? If you're nice, we may give you a stick of gum.
